!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Somebody go buy this - if I still lived in Seattle I’d have this in a nanosecond. The S-Type is the 60s Jag to have (other than an E-Type) , it’s the 3.8, and while an auto and RHD there is no way it should only by $1500 in running/driving semi-presentable condition. Remember this is most of an E-Type, having the same rear suspension setup and engine.

I know, this one ticks pretty much all the boxes.   I mean a manual would be nice, but this is a great spec for $1500...

Yeah 60s Jag is most Jaaaaagiest of all... This is literally the bad guy car...

ETA: Peter Yates did this chase scene a year before Bullitt - in this case the S-Type is driven by the cops, and the robbers are making their escape in a Mk.2 Jag.

So, so pretty. Doesn't matter how much pain it causes you, you can forgive that gorgeous body anything.

Oh yeah, I mean for $1500 put it in the garage and stare at it like a piece of art. Or push through the pain and then drive it as often as possible to keep it healthy. This era of Jags is pretty robust mechanically, especially if used frequently.

At that price you could probably sell enough broghtwork and interior to get it under the LeMons threshold, and if that car’s  not a contender for an Index of Effluency AND an outright win in one package, I don’t know what is.

I predict that owning this is like dating a stripper... pretty, but wallet-destroying.

It probably would kick some butt in LeMons, I mean these were extremely fast cars in their day, and the XK engines are pretty bulletproof.

But then someone would call the ASPCA, and you’d be in trouble.

If you can work on them yourself, they’re extremely cheap to run. If not, then your statement is 100% accurate.
